FOREWORD
this blog presupposes:
* leidΓ© is frisk's aunt, and frisk themself is a mage. can be adjusted for anyone not fond of this concept.* "mages" described in universe are referred to as magicians, mages and magi interchangeably.* the magicians described in the history of the monsters were a separate "subspecies" of human. we refer to them as a race called the MAGI. true humans are humans without the ability to harness the power of their SOULs.* the magicians were essentially wiped out after the war β through the sapping of their power by way of the barrier's creation, and the intentional culling of them by true humans.* as implied by the 10th anniversary stream, magicians were not a cohesive group of peoples who uniformly despised monsters. the war between monsters and humans was incredibly nuanced.* magicians were not spellcasters (though they are capable of casting spells) so much as they were magically attuned beings more closely related to monsters than true humans.* magicians as a race of peoples are functionally extinct, and are not known to true humans as a real peoples. they are considered a myth.* similarly to the monsters, magicians were also persecuted and treated as lesser by true humans.

* exists primarily in the "epilogue" of undertale, where monsters reside on the surface.* does not really acknowledge connections to deltarune. we have a specific AU for DR, but for the primary verse, we operate like DR doesn't exist. especially as it becomes overwhelmingly evident that DR crosses over in some way with UT. this is not because we don't like DR, but rather, the lore and character were established pre deltarune and wouldn't function correctly with DR lore in mind.* obviously relies very heavily on an ultra specific and thoroughly worldbuilt interpretation of the surface, and the mages of legend. if my interpretations aren't your cup of tea, feel free to not interact.

HOUSE DE MORRIGAN, one of the twelve great houses of the magi, was known traditionally as the house of mage-knights, or justiciars. these magicians were devout pursuers of justice, their members often regarded as the JUDGE, JURY AND EXECUTIONERS of magi culture. they worshiped an ancient deity known as SOL INVICTUS, the unconquered sun, a symbol of divine justice.
* led by a single person, called THE MORRIGUS.
* represented by the lion, the sun, a sprig of columbine, and the scales of justice.
* dominated by YELLOW and RED SOULs.
* house colors are yellow and red.
* the morrigus, also called the rebis or the divine hermaphordite was the provincial leader of the great house de morrigan. the morrigus (meaning light-carrier), was an individual chosen not by their people, but rather by an inherited SOUL. this inherited SOUL is sometimes referred to as the original morrigus, and is passed down through synchronous birth and death β when one morrigus dies, the eternal SOUL passes on to the next at the exact moment of their birth. this child would be groomed to become the next leader of their house by a counsel of individuals who knew the previous morrigus.* the morrigus carries the memories, experiences and skills of the previous morrigai with them through their life. this is the true purpose of such an unusual system: to accumulate experience and knowledge unlike any other mage. in doing so, they may exact near perfect justice.
